(Swaffaath) 37 : 36
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُو آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَجْنُونٍ

And they were asking: Indeed should we have to give up our deities for a Jinn affected poet.

The Meccan pagans considered the Messenger Muhammad to be a mad poet. As mentioned in verse 15: 6, they said, “Oh, the one who claims that Adhikr is revealed to me, you are a man possessed by Jinn.” In verse 36: 69-70, it is mentioned that Allah did not teach him poetry, and it is not suitable for him; indeed, it is nothing but a Reminder and a clear recitation to warn those who are alive, so that the word of punishment may come true upon the disbelievers. Today, if the believer, by quoting the verses of Adhikr, warns the Fujjar that only one in a thousand who holds to Adhikr will go to Paradise and the rest 999 will go to Hell, the response of these Fujjar will be: “He is an odd liar, a madman, and he has strayed from our forefathers’ way,” as mentioned in verses 2: 170 and 54: 25. See explanation 15: 9, 12; 51: 52-53.
